Rocky Point Native
American Scholarship Program

the letter from Mike Novitski - President &
CEO of Rocky Point
Mission
The major objective of our mission for the Rocky
Point Native American Scholarship
is to graduate students who will become leaders
in their community. For this reason, we have established
the Rocky Point Native American Scholarship Program
to recognize outstanding young men and women who
have the potential to become leaders in their
respective tribal communities.
The scholarship was created specifically to honor
students from tribes throughout California who
excel academically, who are involved in their
schools and communities, and who show leadership
potential. This program offers tuition scholarships
(renewable for up to four years or 2 years for
graduate programs) to select students graduating
from high schools or who are currently attending
colleges or universities.
We are looking forward to being proud of our recipients,
and to selecting a group of outstanding young
men and women to lead their nations into the 21st
century.
Funding
Funding for the scholarships will be based on
proceeds of products ordered through Rocky Point
by tribes for their use. Ten percent of the net
dollar amount of eligible orders will be set aside
into an endowed fund to be used to award the scholarships.
Awards will be based on 25 to 50% of eligible
tuition at the college or university that the
student will attend. Student recipients will need
to submit a letter of acceptance from their college
and the scholarship will be disbursed directly
to the college’s Financial Aid Office.
In the case of excess scholarship funds remaining
at the end of the awarding period, those funds
will be invested for use the following academic
year, or recipient’s awards may increase.
Should net proceeds not be generated through the
tribes, then awards may differ from what is stated
above. For updated information, contact the Director
of Scholarships and Higher Education.
